Lee Su-in, lyricist
Lee Su-in was born in Uiryeong, Gyeongnam. During the Korean War, he moved to Masan. He wrote music to the lyrics of many famous songs such as Song of Hometown, Seokguram (the Sokkuram Cave Temple) and Stars. He also composed numerous children's songs.
Some of his well-known children's songs include Round and Round, Forward and Forward, and Bell Flower(Strobilanthes oligantha).
When he was in high school, he founded the Cheong-Un Club with his friends to meet regularly for discussions about literature and life.
Among the members were novelists such as Lee Je-ha, Kim Pyeong-chong, Song sang-ok, and Park Hyeon-ryeong. He went to Sorabol Arts College and studied music composition under composer Kim Dong-jin who wrote music to the lyrics of Gagopa.
After college, he taught music at Jeil Girl's High School in Masan. He composed songs that people enjoyed singing and appreciated.
He led the KBS children's choir for more than thirty years and provided songs that are easy to learn and sing. He contributed so much to the popularization of children's songs in South Korea.
